A new study has found that people who keep exercise to less than 30 minutes per week are 60% less likely will develop cancer later in their lives if they do not engage more regularly with physical activity (i-bitempo). The researchers compared mortality risk among active adults at about 70 years old during follow-up from 1987 to 2007 using data from 10,039 persons living in North Carolina over 65 years old. After controlling various confounders such as age/sex ratio of men, depression, use or abuse disorders prior to diagnosis, diabetes, smoking status, etc., participants had an increased overall 5-year relative risk of 1%.
